Long weekend away

 Reviewed 25 September 2012

I chose the anchorage as it looked peaceful and inviting and I was definitely not disappointed, everything I saw on the website and more. dogs nearly giving us a warmer welcome than Annette, our room had a little stoep and I caught the last rays of the sun with a glass of wine in my hand as I could hear and see some people on the other side of the river catching or trying to catch fish and the others making a huge bon fire. the sounds of some sheep on a farm close by and the odd motorboat chucking up the river is part of the anchorage. the room had a king size bed, kitchenette with everything you need, fresh milk, coffee, tea, sugar, TV with dstv. if you walk to the river’s edge there is some canoes for your own use, a swimming pool is being built and breakfast is also served although we opted for self catering

“we choose the room at the bottom and on the end but all the bottom rooms have a stoep and you can have a braai just in front of your room” (Yvette Albertse)

I enjoyed it and I think I could stay there forever

Good morning Annette & Craig

I hope all went well on the cycle race! Have not seen my boss yet

I just want to thank you again for the stay at the Anchorage, I enjoyed it and I think I could stay there forever.

The room is just what one needs, big enough and small enough, the dogs running around, the river, the sounds of the sheep, the people, etc

Hope to come back some time if not to at least to refer some friends and family

Regards

Yvette

Enjoyable, relaxing and peaceful!

If one wants a get away from it all, this is the best place to pick. The place is neat & cosy with very helpful & friendly hosts. Thanks Craig & Annette, we really enjoyed our stay. Overall rating 100% - very good.
