We stayed 2 nights at the Anchorage and felt like we had been on holiday for a week. It was so calm and peaceful, with gorgeous views over the rive, teeming with bird life. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful and made us feel as if were at home immediately. We would highly recommend this beautiful place if you want to relax and unwind. Breakfast was delicious too.

Excellent service, beautiful place.

What impressed me about this accommodation was the warm and friendly reception that we received when we checked in. The rooms were spotless and we enjoyed the option of having a shower plus a bath in our unit. Lovely place to stay.

 

 

 

"Great Stay"

Very nice guesthouse with lovely rooms and charming owners. The house was very clean and well maintained. We had a beautiful time and we enjoyed the amazing view across the river. We will definitely stay there again one time in future and also recommend it to our friends.

"A Hidden Gem"

We very much enjoyed a lovely evening in a peaceful setting. Our Hosts Craig and Annette could not have been more friendly and helpful. They advised us on local dining options and after an excellent breakfast even prepared for us a small snack for our onward journey. A bit off the beaten track but well worth the trip. We hope to stay again on our next trip to SA.

Room Tip: Upper rooms have better river views but all rooms are good.

A HOME AWAY FROM HOME - Our experience was TOP CLASS.

"Our arrival at Anchorage was warmly greeted by a friendly face, we thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality and we were short of absolutely nothing. The kitchen had everything we needed and more, the rooms were immaculately cleaned on a daily basis, we even slept with the door unlocked and windows wide open, that is definitely a first for us. The lush environment alongside the river and the early morning sunrise was just absolutely beautiful; the setting of the rooms overlooking the river was breath-taking from sunrise to sunset; the pool was clean and very inviting! We also met the cutest, behaved, friendliest home pets ever, they were just adorable following us to the river as if they were checking that we are okay as well as keeping us company at night while we watching the sunset from the porch. It was really a wonderful experience that we won’t soon forget. Our stay at the Anchorage was memorable and we would surely be back, hopefully soon. Thank you Annette & Craig wishing you everything BEAUTIFUL.. Warm regards "

 

 

 

 

Gemaklik en rustig

Die area is regtig mooi. Die kamer ten volle toegerus net so ook die kombuis en badkamer, maar dis die heel eerste plek in SA waar ek al ooit "Europlumbing" teëgekom het. Wat 'n verrassing. Dit het my laat terugdink aan my vroeë jeug in Nederland.

"Lovely place"

Really an excellent setting in Stillbay, directly at the river, Annette and Graig are very good hosts and gave us a lot of good tips to do arround Stillbay. Stillbay ist jutst a insider tip at the Garden Route, not so busy like Knysna, Plettenberg or Jeffreys Bay.

"Another great stay at the Anchorage"

Second year we have stayed at the Anchorage, 3 nights this time, great room set in a lovely location on the river. Huge sandy beach just around the estuary entrance. Best pool we went in all holiday. Lovely, friendly owners and staff. The little Bistro restaurant across the bridge served a really good lamb pie. Hope we will be back next year. Derek

We had our first visit to Stilbaai and chose The Anchorage. What a lovely choice we made! Craig and Annette are wonderful hosts and looked after all our needs.The Anchorage has a great situation on the river and just on the edge of town. Our room was very comfortable and had lovely views across the river. The garden and pool area have been well thought out for the comfort of guests and the pool is heated. A great area to relax in.

Wir waren im Oktober mit zwei Pärchen und einem Single dort. Wir haben uns wirklich sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Haus ist etwas abgelegen, was uns nicht gestört hat. Die Gastgeber sind unglaublich engagiert und liebevoll. Liebevoll sind auch die Unterkünfte. Klasse!
